On a cold Winter walk an intercession is cast Of shadow and light upon an old church wall By a dying winter sun against dying winter trees Coveting the lamentable remnants of Fall The shadow cuts across the stone, The light breathes upon the arches, The wind conducts through the leaves, And the scene is bound as time marches. As I stand in observative solitude The furrows of thought enrapture me, And no longer are these separate But apart to a canvas of a great grey sea. Who is the guardian of Morality, The beseecher of Love, The instructor of Truth, The keeper of Justice? They are found between the folds of reality Relative
